Ghostn:
Compliance Jacket Reveal
I made a reveal video for each of the garments in Ghostn’s first collection. The goal was to generate interest and eventually conversions while showcasing the visual identity of the brand. I wrote, shot, directed, and edited these videos.
Roles: Cinematographer, Editor, Director
Purpose
Anything worth getting excited over should come with a trailer. So I wanted to generate interest for the very first garments Ghostn would release with a cool, dark, and gritty look into the conditions each piece was inspired by.
Creative Process
This video was shot at my home studio during the pandemic. I couldn’t order a human-supporting lazy susan so I asked my dad to help me create a metal platform for the rotating shots.
The Compliance Jacket was part of the Frame of Mind collection, which uses VHS-style visuals to represent different states of mind when dealing with adversity.
I had a lot of fun in the editing phase. It’s always so cool to transform someone on a green screen into a whole scene. A lot of the glitches were made in AE. The old Apple commercial with the giant monitor and 1984 vibes inspired the end shot. I wanted to replicate that feeling since the jacket's message was to comply with getting through whatever you’re going through.
Behind The Scenes
Reflection
I remember when I was first planning this shoot. I was worried about not being able to come close to what I had in mind. However, I was able to lean on the damaged and gritty aesthetics and turn my lack of resources into an advantage. Ultimately, the videos did their job and helped us reach our first few hundred followers and increased conversions by 50%. This shoot reminded me how badly I wanted more space for the green screen and also how to work around not having it.
