Glow-in-the-dark shirt teaser
To build anticipation for Ghostn’s upcoming glow-in-the-dark shirt, I created a short horror-inspired teaser that blends product marketing with eerie storytelling. Leaning into the brand’s dark, atmospheric tone, the video takes viewers into a quiet bedroom where something unsettling unfolds—hinting at the product without revealing it outright. This approach was designed to generate curiosity, reinforce Ghostn’s identity, and offer a visually memorable intro to the new release.
Roles: Director, Editor, 3D
Purpose
Tease the release of Ghostn's glow-in-the-dark shirt in an eerie, cinematic way.
Spark curiosity and engagement without directly showcasing the full product.
Align the teaser with Ghostn’s horror-inspired brand identity and tone.
Concept Development
Inspired by found-footage horror films like Paranormal Activity.
Created a short scene from the POV of a bedroom security camera, set at night.
The shirt's glow was only visible on a single standing figure—adding mystery and intrigue.
Visual & Aesthetic Choices
Framed the entire teaser as lo-fi night vision footage for realism and tone.
Used a muted, eerie color palette with high contrast around the glow effect.
Minimal movement and fixed perspective enhanced tension and suspense.
The glowing logo acted as both product placement and narrative cue.
Production Decisions
Modeled and animated the ghost in Blender, then composited in After Effects.
Simulated security cam effects using digital grain, timestamp overlays, and distortion.
Deliberately kept the figure’s identity vague to preserve mystery and avoid overt advertising.
Ensured the glow-in-the-dark element was visible enough to tease without spoiling.
Creative Challenges
Balancing product visibility with narrative subtlety—ensuring viewers noticed the shirt without feeling like it was a traditional ad.
Creating a chilling atmosphere within limited runtime and without dialogue or sound design.
Achieving believable ghost visuals using limited 3D animation time and tools.
Reflection
This teaser allowed me to explore horror aesthetics within branded content.
It successfully reinforced Ghostn’s identity and sparked curiosity without needing overt CTA-style messaging.
The project pushed me to blend narrative and product integration in a minimal yet impactful way.
