Glow-in-the-dark shirt teaser
To build anticipation ahead of Ghostn’s Ominous Positivity shirt release, I created a teaser that blended Ghostn’s eerie visual language with Skairic’s distinct art style. Instead of showing the product directly, I focused on atmosphere and symbolism—using a mix of 2D, 3D, and live-action visuals to represent the red rift lore and set a haunting tone. The result was a slow-burning, unsettling video that hinted at the shirt’s deeper meaning without revealing too much.
Roles: Director, Editor, Motion Design
Purpose
Build anticipation for the limited-edition “Ominous Positivity” shirt before launch.
Introduce Ghostn’s ongoing “red rift” lore visually, tying it to the artwork by Skairic.
Showcase the collaboration’s eerie tone and layered storytelling through abstract visuals.
Concept Development
Concept centered around hands reaching upward—symbolizing distress and emergence, a recurring motif in both the shirt design and Ghostn’s lore.
Chose to represent the hands across three mediums:
2D art from Skairic,
3D renders made in Blender,
and live-action footage
Transitioned the scene into an isolated black void containing only a CRT TV, leaning into analog horror and surreal tension.
Final sequence: camera slowly pushing toward the TV, which glitches to reveal intense flashes of shirt details, followed by "Coming Soon" text and both brand logos.
Visual & Aesthetic Choices
red, black, and grey palette reflecting the lore and mood of the shirt.
Hands depicted with slightly different styles across mediums but all animated to reach upward in sync, creating visual rhythm.
The CRT TV became a focal point for unease—symbolizing a rift in reality or transmission.
Glitch effects and momentary reveals of the shirt reinforced the haunting, fragmented feel.
Production Decisions
Blender was used to animate and light the 3D hand sequence with dramatic shadows and slow upward motion.
AE was used to composite the 2D and live-action hand layers into a seamless flow.
Final color grade and pacing were handled in DaVinci Resolve to unify the aesthetic and intensify the mood.
Sound design was minimal—letting tension build through drones, ambience, and visual discomfort.
Creative Challenges
Balancing three distinct visual styles while keeping tone and motion consistent.
Representing both Ghostn’s world and Skairic’s aesthetic without one overpowering the other.
Executing a slow, ambient teaser that still captured attention and built hype.
Reflection
This piece helped expand the visual language of Ghostn’s universe while deepening the red rift lore.
It was also a chance to preview the product in a subtle, artistic way that resonated with the brand’s horror-inspired audience.
The multi-medium approach pushed my creative problem-solving and helped elevate the video beyond a standard product teaser.
